Ostende - well known as the port for cross-channel ferries from the UK, also has a very large fishing harbour and miles of scenic coastline, giving it a real seaside atmosphere. The promenade that extends along the beach and into the centre of the town has a great shopping area and is fun to walk and browse. Ostend also boasts an illustrious royal history, which can be seen in and around the Thermae Palace Hotel, the famous Wellington racetrack and the monumental casino.
