Armenia lies between the Black and the Caspian seas. With stark rocky countryside, historic cities and monasteries perched on scenic mountaintops, Armenia is a fascinating place to visit, depsite its many political problems. It has an incredibly rich natural wealth - with an abundance of wildflowers, framed by snowy mountains, pitted with deep caves. The country has over 40,000 ancient churches and monuments. The Armenian Speleological Society offers guided hikes, caving and mountain expeditions.
