Azerbaijan, a small country located on the western shore of the Caspian Sea is great for a unique holiday - if the turmoil with neighbouring Armenia can be overlooked. The place is well known for its medieval minarets and mosques and of course carpets. The capital city of Baku on the Caspian Sea has some of the best architectural buildings, museums, Palaces, archaeological digs and monuments. You could 'take-in the waters' - soaking in medicinal mud, oil and hot springs in the spas in Kuba, Ganja-Naftalan and Nakhchivan. Indulge in some fine hiking in the parks around Baku and on the Apsheron Peninsula.
