Fishing villages on stilts along Lake Nokoue and the beaches of Grand Popo will cast a spell on you much as the voodoo in Benin. This West African country, once known as the "Slave Coast" of Africa was notorious for slave trade. Tribal culture, game reserves, village markets are some of the attractions.

Also well known are the bronze sculptures of the historical Dahomey Empire. - Cotonou-A vibrant city, you could visit the picturesque Grand Marche de Dantokpa, the bars nightclubs or the town of Ganvie, to see bamboo huts on stilts several kilometres out on Lake Nokoue.
