Known as the 'Cannibal Isles', history has it that the native people in Fiji were fierce and hostile but the friendly warmth of the locals quite belies the myth. Palm-lined beaches and coral reefs are the prominent features of these South Pacific islands, 300 of which make up the country.
Enjoy the culture of the region, the traditional Yaqona (Kava) ceremony or partake the Lovo, a magnificent feast. The region offers plenty of outdoor activities like swimming, surfing, river rafting, wind surfing and sailing. The fringing reefs all over the islands offer splendid diving and snorkelling. On the two largest islands, Viti Levu and Vanua Levu, sharp peaks and rock outcroppings punctuate lush vegetation.
